The Tin Guide is reader-supported. Some of the links on this site are affiliate links, which means that if you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission — at no additional cost to you. This is one of the ways we fund the work of buying and reviewing tinned fish.
What this does — and doesn’t — change
Affiliate commissions never influence our reviews, our scores, or our rankings. We decide what we think of a tin before we ever consider where it can be bought, and a higher commission does not buy a higher score. If we don’t like something, we say so, link or no link.
Crucially: we buy every tin we review at retail price, with our own money. We accept no free product in exchange for coverage. When we are sent something unsolicited, we either decline to review it or disclose the arrangement explicitly and prominently.
Where affiliate links appear
Any page that contains affiliate links carries a visible disclosure bar at the top and an
#ad marker near the links themselves. All affiliate links are
tagged rel="sponsored nofollow" in accordance with search-engine and FTC guidance.
Programs we participate in
The Tin Guide participates in the Amazon Associates Program and may participate in other affiliate programs (for example, via Skimlinks for non-Amazon merchants). As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. This list will be kept current as our programs change.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, or you spot a link that isn’t properly disclosed, tell us — we’ll fix it. Our independence is the entire value of this publication, and we guard it accordingly. See also our methodology.
